John C Reilly as Jerry Buss. Jason Clarke as Jerry West. Adrien Brody as Pat Riley. The drama will highlight the on the court and off the court lives of the Showtime Lakers. It should be interesting how they portray Magic Johnson at parties where he is hooking up with 2-3 women at a time. I wonder how far the drama will go. I like the casting of Jason Clarke as Jerry West. The link shows the much of the cast. Even an actor portraying Donald Sterling is in it. I would imagine the show if they go through with it is at least two years away.

Magic denies that and I don't think HBO wants to step in that quagmire. The network is in a funny position here. Obviously to display the Lakers uniform or mention any NBA teams they will need the league's cooperation. Silver doesn't want the league portrayed negatively. If you are doing a documentary the league can't do anything because all you are showing is archived TV footage or news reports. Once you portray the league in a fictional way you open up a can of worms. Playmakers on ESPN was pulled because the NFL didn't like the way it was shown even if the teams and the league in the show were all created. The NFL basically said end the show if you want to do business with us. Would love to see a no holds barred series on the Association. Guess will have to see how they are going to pull this off.

lol they definitely aren't gonna show him hitting on dudes

that sounds kinda awful just because I doubt whatever happened was that salacious to make it into a show so it'll have to be heavily sensationalized, but if it gets good reviews I'll probably give it a watch. I mean I watched Arliss and Ballers so if its a sports show the bar isn't high

ESPN had a very good documentary on Bias in the 30 for 30 series. Came out years ago might be part of their collection of that series on ESPN+

Well here is his son, genetics. Amazing that Johnson kept his hiv in control for what, 4 decades.
